I cut my teeth as a private practice lawyer for 10 years specialising in corporate & commercial law in some of the largest global law firms in the world in Australia, New Zealand, the UK and the Cayman Islands. I then made the leap into corporates as an inhouse lawyer, and have never looked back. I've since had the absolute privilege of being a trusted advisor, as NZ lead counsel, global GC and company secretary, to market leaders across technology, insurance and financial services, pharma and biotech. I have extensive experience in commercial, corporate, M&A (including IPOs), technology (including cloud, AI, security, data privacy and IP) and corporate governance. I am skilled in managing multi-jurisdictional litigation.
I see the world with a wide lens, bringing curiosity, positivity and a strategic, growth mindset to every opportunity, which allows me to find solutions where others see only roadblocks.
I believe inhouse lawyers should deeply embed themselves by jumping into the trenches with the business. I pride myself in being proactive and taking a leadership role in identifying and managing risks and opportunities in the business in order to maximise value. I strive to closely align legal strategy with business strategy for optimal business outcomes.
