Capability
With both private practice and in-house experience, I enjoy working through issues with clients by balancing legal risk with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach. I am motivated by helping people, solving problems and making things better. I have extensive people management skills and have either led or worked on many projects that have had goals of reducing costs, increasing productivity and delivering IT based solutions for the benefit of the business.
These experiences are underpinned by my MBA, in which I engaged with a diverse range of key papers that included leadership and teamwork, managing people and organisations, managing financial resources, marketing analysis and strategy, business economics, and operations and supply chain management. It equipped me with a comprehensive skill set for strategic management that I enjoy bringing into my legal roles.
Outside of work I am a Trustee of Touch Compass Dance Trust. I have a passion for the arts and enjoy combining that with working in corporate governance.

Caroline was a valued member of our team. She dealt with a wide range of our business including contracts, covenants, legal opinions and supported a new legal staff member. She slotted into our team seamlessly and provided prompt and pragmatic advice.
Pam Bain
Director Regional Services Kaiwhakahaere Matua ā Ratonga, Heritage New Zealand
Caroline is a calm, thoughtful and unflappable lawyer who is able to work with ambiguity, which is particularly important in our operational environment. She always rolls up her sleeves and gets on with the matter at hand, is happy to work through a time consuming issue or complex problem, and manages her client relationships with courtesy and professionalism. She also has a great sense of humour.
Our clients have all enjoyed working with her, and I have appreciated the support of a senior lawyer who I can trust to identify issues, seek guidance where required and maintain important client relationships with ease.
Tara McGibbon
Principal Legal Counsel, Te Whatu Ora
Caroline excelled in communication and relationship-building, frequently engaging with our team to ensure alignment and understanding. Her friendly and easy manner made her a pleasure to work with, both over email and on calls. In areas that were new to her, she adapted swiftly and effectively with minimal guidance. Her commitment to timely and clear work completion made her an invaluable asset to our team.
