Marissa Flowerday | Juno Legal | Lawyer

Capability

I am a solutions-focused lawyer with over 18 years of legal experience.  Over the past seven years, I have provided Juno clients with substantial value through practical, business-oriented advice. I adapt quickly to new organisational environments and clients appreciate my pragmatism and 'can-do' positive attitude.

I have broad in-house experience across commercial, regulatory and compliance matters and deep expertise in aspects related to technology-focused contracts, including B2B and consumer-facing agreements, eCommerce, consumer law and privacy compliance across different markets.  I also have experience in providing advice and guidance on business acquisitions (from acquisition structure and due diligence through to integration of the newly acquired business), as well as managing government relations programmes and legislative reviews.

While currently based in Spain, I leverage the time difference to provide seamless support to clients in New Zealand.  From a personal perspective, I maintain a keen interest in sustainability and ESG-related work and am currently pursuing an AI Governance Professional Certification.

Governance/Community

Former Deputy Chair, Outward Bound Members Council

  • Just a quick note to say that I have really appreciated working with Marissa over the last wee while.  I have enjoyed her pragmatism and common sense, not to mention her fantastic legal skills and sense of humour!  She has been a highly valued member of our team and a very safe pair of hands.

    Simon Johnson

General Counsel, Victoria University of Wellington

  • Marissa has been bloody brilliant thank you.

    Kirsten Sutherland

    Founder, St Fabiola

  • Juno Legal have been a great support to Dyson ANZ. Our legal team are based in Australia, however deal with issues relating to our New Zealand business on a regular basis. We were looking for support from a firm in NZ that could provide cost efficient advice on various ad hoc matters that arise from time to time. Marissa from Juno Legal, has been great at filling this need for us and has provided clear and timely advice that has hit the mark on a variety of matters.

    Ashvini Arnott

Former Legal Counsel, Dyson Australia and New Zealand

  • We are so happy with Marissa. She wrote a great letter for us for our client. I could only envy the way she put everything.

    Cynthia Pfeffer

    Office Manager, Essen Engineering

  • Marissa is a real asset to our team here at Consumer NZ. She can get to the crux of an issue quickly and brings a range of experiences to bear on problems. She was particularly helpful in leading a project to amalgamate a number of disparate privacy policies into one, simple to read and user friendly product.

Marissa is great to deal with and her move to Spain has made no real difference to working with her. Despite the location, her delivery remains consistent, efficient, and of high quality. Clear deadlines ensure that results are delivered on time even across time zones.

    Jon Duffy

    Chief Executive, Consumer

  • Marissa joined our small team at a time when we were rapidly scaling internationally and concurrently establishing a full service legal function. A busy time for the legal team!

Since joining, Marissa has applied her wealth of experience to partner with the business to deliver a broad range of projects. Her extensive experience means she was immediately able to operate autonomously and she has quickly built up relationships throughout the organisation.

We have really enjoyed her calm and considered manner, and ‘can do’ attitude, no matter what is asked of her.

I regularly receive compliments about her professionalism and pragmatism from stakeholders across the business and personally am very appreciative of the support she provides the me and the legal team. Marissa has worked almost entirely remotely since joining us and we’ve found the model to be very effective.”

    Sarah Miller

Fomer General Counsel (CLO) Company Secretary, Serko

  • Marissa is a highly talented and experienced lawyer that you can trust to do things properly. She fitted in seamlessly with our team and quickly built good working relationships with internal clients, allowing her to efficiently deliver advice and outcomes with little oversight. It was a pleasure having her on board and with her working remotely from Madrid, a real treat for us and internal clients to start work with advice having been turned around overnight and in the inbox.
