Caroline is a calm, thoughtful and unflappable lawyer who is able to work with ambiguity, which is particularly important in our operational environment. Jen [gave a] thorough and thoughtful handover. She has played such a key role in establishing the "new Stuff" since the MBO, and I know she is very loved by the business. I can also see the stellar work she has done in re-shaping our legal function to make it fit for purpose for the journey ahead. And of course she is a whip-smart lawyer and a brilliant, funny and kind colleague. Whoever gets her next will be very lucky. 

To say Jeremy is a safe pair of hands is an understatement. Jeremy came to EA to cover parental leave. He helped us by taking on a newly created interim manager role in our compliance (enforcement) team, bringing together a team of investigators. Jeremy put in place new processes and redesigned the way the team operated to streamline and modernise the function, while also keeping the team happy and engaged. He also dealt with some high profile and challenging cases. Nothing seems to phase Jeremy; he’s extremely competent, reliable and fits in really well in any team. Jeremy has materially reduced the pressure and workload for me – he’s been a lifesaver.

Nikki fitted in extremely well and was able to teach and learn and be a support as well as a very capable lawyer. She helped solve a particularly complex and difficult OIA/Privacy issue that had become vexatious and stressful– Nikki came in and organised the situation into a mini project and used her people skills/legal analysis and judgment in a way that took a lot of the heat out of it. We were able to move forward in a way that had been difficult before Nikki’s guidance and professionalism. Nikki is motivated, pragmatic, and personable as well as having extremely good technical ability – this makes her a perfect member of an in-house legal team.

Jacki has brought a depth of experience to the RBNZ legal team. We note she has many strings to her bow, including her skills as a coach and personal development counsellor in her legal and business advice. I would highlight her contracting and procurement advice where she guided us closer to best practice, working closely with the business.

I’m a big fan of Juno’s services for our in-house legal needs. 

Anthea Herron joined our team to help support us during a time of increased workload and limited in-house resources. She hit the ground running straight away and made a huge contribution to workload management. 

Anthea brought with her not only greatly appreciated top-end legal support but a big smile and positive attitude, which, as we all know, is highly infectious. I would definitely hope to bring Anthea back to support the team when needed in future – if she hasn’t already been snapped up!

Jen is an absolute superstar and has taken on the role of general counsel with enormous ease, despite media being a new industry to her. Nothing fazes her, whether it be a tricky media issue or, as happened a few weeks into her tenure, a change of ownership for our business.

She has become an integral part of our executive leadership team, respected and trusted by the whole executive as well as the wider business, and has been a valued contributor to our overall strategic work and planning. Besides her professional abilities, she is a fantastic colleague to work alongside and we have been very fortunate to have her in our business.

Jeremy is working out absolutely fantastically and he is exactly what I wanted and needed for me and his team. He has worked out very quickly where the issues are and is now addressing them professionally. He is enabling his team to demonstrate how well they can do their jobs and I am already receiving petitions to keep him on forever!

When Airways had a lawyer go on parental leave, Matt came in to help: We are so grateful to have someone of Matt’s calibre providing parental leave cover.  He’s full of fresh ideas for ways to enhance our systems and his creativity, knowledge, pragmatism and obvious personal enthusiasm for all things “tech” mean he brings real wisdom and perspective to our ICT contracting (and other commercial contracting) work. I had approached Juno looking for someone to help us maintain status quo during a team member’s absence, but I got someone who enhanced our operations.

We are a big fan of the Juno model, and Sarah Graydon in particular. Sarah is a highly respected lawyer who headed the legal team at NZ Post meaning she brings all this experience with her. She is incredibly pragmatic, fast, intuitive and knowledgeable. We have also benefitted hugely from Sarah’s wide range of different experiences and ability to provide us with more general consultation advice (for example on some unnecessary complexity in the way we do things). This is something I think the Juno model, and Sarah in particular offers that we just can’t get from a law firm secondee. 

I wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed working with Nikki. She was amazingly efficient at everything she did, built great relationships all around the business and was good fun to have around the office. We really enjoyed her being here and were sad to see her go. I really like your business model and have told lots of people about how well it’s worked for us.
