What most attracted you to the flexible work model that Juno offers?

I have a lot going on in my life with two young children. As much as I love being at home with my kids, working and using my brain remain really important to me. Juno offers me an opportunity to give my best to all aspects of my life without feeling like I am letting one side down.

Can you tell us about your favourite part of your job?

Because I get to work with a range of clients, I see a lot of different operating models and legal teams up close. I really enjoy learning about a new company’s values and culture, and seeing what their strength and weaknesses are. I have worked as part of a number of legal teams, therefore I can often make suggestions about how a particular process might be made more efficient or how to remove a client pain-point.

Recently you have been working with some mature start-ups. Can you tell us more about this role?

Recently I have been focusing on promoting Juno to high-growth and innovative start-ups. I have been starting these engagements by asking the client to fill out a risk-assessment questionnaire so that we can be sure that we are focusing their resources on mitigating the highest risk for their business. I really enjoy working with start-ups because they are often run by really creative people, who are thinking outside the box and often challenging the status quo. I have found that there is a natural synergy between Juno and many start-ups because Juno is also in the business of finding new and better ways to do things.

What do you feel contributes to a great Juno client engagement for you and for the client?

The best way to ensure a great engagement is to spend lots of time getting to know a client and asking lots of questions at the beginning. A holistic understanding of a client is essential to provide the best advice from the outset and see connections between seemingly unrelated issues. Also, its really important to stay flexible in terms of expectations as to the scope of a role, and being prepared to fill any gap that arises within an organisation, so that the client can feel a sense of relief that you have arrived and are ready to help!
