Capability

Originally from Northern Ireland, I have extensive in-house and private practice experience in both the UK and New Zealand. Having worked in a variety of sectors across multiple jurisdictions, I have a strong understanding of how different businesses operate which allows me to provide timely, pragmatic and commercially-focused legal advice.

I am a strong believer in developing a nimble and efficient legal function with a focus on working with the teams I support to proactively mitigate risk. This has included developing a "mitigate not mark up" approach to contract reviews that I have successfully rolled out within various organisations.

My previous experience includes advising on complex procurement projects valued up to £1 billion, leading the roll-out of a GDPR compliance regime for a FTSE 100 company, negotiating a range of technical public sector ICT outsourcing agreements and delivering legal training courses across the EU, USA and Asia-Pacific.

My aim is to provide a seamless link between the legal function and the business I support in order to become a trusted advisor and to solve the key issues that they face.
